Amazing the Change is about a group of old high school friends in a moment of possibility: some coming home for the first time since school, some about to leave and pursue their dreams, one about to propose (one about to say no) one getting sober, one taking a risk in romance, and others not fulfilling their potential at all. It’s set at the Time to Eat Diner on “the circle,” an intersection of roads in New Jersey, host to many traffic accidents, on the Fourth of July.

This was the first play I wrote for the Atlantic Acting School, uniting me with some of my dearest friends and collaborators to date. Due to a scheduling miracle, and director Andy Schneeflock’s leadership, we were able to develop this 13-person story at the Linda Gross Theater - and set a tradition for the Evening Conservatory’s productions for the next several years.

The play has not been produced since its 2015 production, but gosh does that moment in time shine brightly.

The content and the form are one and the same for me. It was a moment of great possibility. Many things changed. Many stayed the same.
