The Script Writing Score
SWS is a new form of writing built off of ten years of experimentation and performance.
Right now, creators have two options to make their written work:
A blank page, and a format that looks like a screenplay.
Both are in the tradition of the past tense, the novel or poem. They dictate what an artist can create.
In 2012, I wrote a large play for eighteen actors at Columbia University. In working to create a sound that was more organic, electric and acrobatic, I turned the vertical page on its side. I created horizontal lines across the page for each character.
This simple shift has profoundly changed my process. It created a format that is distinctly theatrical and AI-proof.
And now you can write it it using Swseng.
